Skew Deviation

Journal of Binocular Vision and Ocular Motility, 2022
Ocular skew deviation is an acute vertical misalignment resulting from the disruption of vestibular input to the interstitial nucleus of Cajal, involving the utriculo-ocular pathway, the cerebellum or the thalamus. A large percentage of skew cases associated with globe torsion and head tilt have complex or sinister etiologies, necessitating its ...

Sequential skewing

Twenty-first international conference on Machine learning - ICML '04, 2004
This paper extends previous work on the Skewing algorithm, a promising approach that allows greedy decision tree induction algorithms to handle problematic functions such as parity functions with a lower run-time penalty than Lookahead. A deficiency of the previously proposed algorithm is its inability to scale up to high dimensional problems.

On Skew Information

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2004
In this paper, we show that skew information introduced by Wigner and Yanase, which is a natural informational extension of variance for pure states, can be interpreted as a measure of quantum uncertainty. By virtue of skew information, we establish a new uncertainty relation in the spirit of Schrodinger, which incorporates both incompatibility ...
