Parameter investigation for urban surface‐energy balance: A large‐eddy simulation study
Large eddy simulation modelling is used to investigate the variation in surface‐energy balance (SEB) across an ensemble of morphometrically identical urban geometries. The geometries have the same plan‐area fraction, vegetated fraction, and frontal‐area index, but are unique in terms of building and green‐space layout.

The black grouse Lyrurus tetrix, a galliform species emblematic of the European Alps, is currently threatened by habitat change, particularly given the closure of heathland linked to the rising tree line at higher altitudes. Monitoring wildlife using long‐endurance solar‐electric UAVs
This report discusses the effectiveness of using small solar‐electric UAV (uncrewed aerial vehicles) for aerial wildlife monitoring. We review four years of aerial wildlife monitoring missions using a 5.5‐m wingspan, solar‐electric UAV that was equipped with a gimballed IR/RGB camera.

Dynamics of carving runs in alpine skiing. I.The basic centrifugal pendulum. [PDF]
We studied perfect carving turns of alpine skiing using the simple model of an inverted pendulum which is subject to the gravity force and the force mimicking the centrifugal force emerging in the turns. Depending on the turn speed the model describes two different regimes.
