Designing The JD740 Skidder

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1972
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The forestry products manufacturers are being forced by economic pressures into producing wood handling equipment of larger capacity and more efficient operation. Consequently, four-wheel drive articulated skidders of larger sizes and increased horsepower are being designed and built.

SPECIFICATION DEFINITIONS — SKIDDER—GRAPPLE

2017
<div class="section abstract"> <div class="htmlview paragraph">This SAE Standard establishes definitions of specifications most commonly associated with grapple skidders. Specifications common to all articulated, rubber-tired log skidders are included in SAE J1110. The dimensions included in this document are basic and may be supplemented

Development of hybrid drive of skidder

2023
The paper presents a conceptual innovation solution of a hybrid skidder. The innovation refers to a hybrid skidder with a diesel engine coupled with a separate electric motor with two clutches, which enables multi-mode work modes and the replacement of a winch drive based on a hydraulic drive with a drive based on an electric motor.

Performance of Log-Skidder Tires

Transactions of the ASAE, 1984
ABSTRACT THE performance of three different sizes of log-skidder tires was compared at two travel reduction and two inflation pressure levels. Results indicated that when log-skidder tires are operated on dry soil conditions there is little effect on performance due to tire size.

The Skidder: Ideological Adjustments of Downward Mobile Workers.

American Sociological Review, 1959
The formulation suggested here relates Cohen's explanation of the emergence of the delinquent subculture with an explanation of its maintenance. It hypothesizes that the delinquent subculture persists because, once established, it creates for those who participate in it, the very problems which were the bases for its emergence. It is possible to derive

Approach to estimating the layout of a 4K4 skidder.

Reducing the “Skid” in Log Skidders

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1974
<div class="htmlview paragraph">The development of a line of tires designed specifically for log skidder application is described in this paper. Extreme operating conditions led to the abandonment of regular agricultural drive tires for this application.

A Nonlinear Programming Approach to Skidder Congestion

Transactions of the ASAE, 1992
The reduction of yarding costs by alternative optimization methods is examined. A general nonlinear programming approach is presented for selecting an optimal yarding strategy from two different skidder types. A reason that an optimal yarding strategy is not apparent is due to the complex interactions of skidders queueing at the landing.
