The physical and synoptic‐dynamical differences between warm days, hot days, and heatwaves during summer in Victoria, Australia

During the day, there is composite mean cold advection in the boundary layer on warm days (WDs), hot days (HDs) and heatwaves (HWs). There is weaker surface‐sensible heating on HDs and HWs. A nocturnal jet advects warm air on HDs and HWs. There is a strong and slow‐moving upper‐level anticyclone on HWs.

Improving heavy precipitation forecasts through phase‐aware nonlinear bias correction of all‐sky infrared radiances using cloud top temperature differences

This study proposes a phase‐aware bias correction framework for all‐sky infrared radiance assimilation. Cloud top temperature differences between observations and model background fields are used to identify cloud‐phase mismatch and cold‐cloud regimes.

Quantifying Migratory Bat Movements in Central Europe Across Seasons and Years Using a Vertical‐Looking Radar

Vertical‐looking radar provides a first multi‐year analysis of migratory bat phenology in Europe. Bat activity was lowest in winter, increased from spring, and peaked in summer, with similar timing of pre‐ and post‐maternity migrations across years.

Shifting standards due to social class? The role of social class background in CEO career outcomes

Extending the shifting standards model to post‐appointment evaluation, we theorize that CEOs from lower‐class backgrounds face persistently high confirmatory standards, producing asymmetric consequences.

We examine how product attributes shape users' discovery of new functions versus new functionalities. Using 1925 IKEA product hacks, we find that modularity increases the likelihood of new functions.
