Decrement of the skin conductance response to repeated volitional inspiration

open access: yesClinical Neurophysiology, 2005
To examine response decrement of the recently reported inspiratory skin conductance response (SCR) [Lim CL, Seto-Poon M, Clouston PD, Morris JG. Sudomotor nerve conduction velocity and central processing time of the skin conductance response. Clin Neurophysiol 2003;114:2172-80].Twelve healthy adult volunteers performed 3 tasks (A) a control task of ...

Interstimulus intervals for skin conductance response measurement

open access: yesPsychophysiology, 2011
AbstractThis study examined, using the Concealed Information paradigm, whether interstimulus intervals (ISI) typically used for electrodermal measurement can be shortened. An ISI ranging from 16 s to 24 s (with a mean of 20 s) was compared with an ISI shortened by 50% using a within‐participants design.

Anxiety and the Habituation of the Skin Conductance Response

Psychophysiology, 1975
ABSTRACTThe effect of threat of shock on the habituation of the skin conductance response (SCR) to a series of auditory stimuli was assessed. Skin resistance and heart rate were recorded during the presentation of 20, 1 sec, 1000 Hz tones in a control session and in a session at the end of which subjects were led to expect a painful electric shock. The

Stimulus Omission and Dishabituation of the Skin Conductance Response

Psychophysiology, 1983
ABSTRACTThree experiments investigated the effects on the skin conductance response of S2 omission following 15 S1‐S2 presentations. These effects were examined at omission and on the following S1‐S2 (re‐presentation) trial. In Experiment 1 (N = 36), S1 was a 5‐sec slide of a snake and S2 was 1 sec of either 65 or 105 dB white noise. The S1‐S2 interval

Habituation of skin conductance response in a methadone population

Drug and Alcohol Dependence, 1990
By measurement of the habituation to the skin conductance response (SCR) no reduction of activation could be observed between stable patients in methadone maintenance therapy and healthy normal subjects, but significant differences were obtained between the well-performing group and poly-drug users treated with methadone.
