The process of 3D-printed skull models for the anatomy education [PDF]
Objective The 3D printed medical models can come from virtual digital resources, like CT scanning. Nevertheless, the accuracy of CT scanning technology is limited, which is 1mm. In this situation, the collected data is not exactly the same as the real structure and there might be some errors causing the print to fail.

The Epigenetic Funnel and the Cranial Base: How Cranial Bone Growth Helps Integrate Interactions between the Face and the Brain to Constrain Overall Skull Shape [PDF]
Understanding the developmental and genetic bases for evolutionarily important variations in complex phenotypes such as the skull is a challenge because of the complexity of the factors involved.

Statistical skull models from 3D X-ray images [PDF]
We present 2 statistical models of the skull and mandible built upon an elastic registration method of 3D meshes. The aim of this work is to relate degrees of freedom of skull anatomy, as static relations are of main interest for anthropology and legal medicine.

Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery in the Pediatric Patient [PDF]
Pathology along the anterior and posterior skull base has long posed challenges to surgeons due to the difficulty accessing these locations and complexity of the surrounding neurovascular anatomy.

Upconversion nanoparticle‐covalent organic framework core–shell particles provide enhanced contrast for optoacoustic imaging by leveraging the optical absorption of upconversion luminescence within the covalent organic framework matrix. Beyond their role as contrast agents, these particles enable customizable therapeutic agent loading and release, as ...

Anatomical and Behavioral Aspects of Killing and Feeding by the Least Weasel, Mustela nivalis L. [PDF]
The least weasel (Mustela nivalis) is a remarkably well adapted predator of mice and other small animals. Each kill is rather stereotyped, in that the weasel grabs the prey by the nape of the neck and bites through the base of the skull and/or throat ...
