Frequency‐Selective Terahertz Wave Amplification by a Time Boundary in Huygens' Metasurface

In a free‐standing all‐dielectric Huygens' metasurface, ultrafast pulsed laser excitation is used to establish the time boundary for a coherent modulation to the electric and magnetic polarizability in the adiabatic limit. Elucidating and Biomimicking the Coloration Mechanisms Responsible for the Vibrant Blue Hues of the Common Kingfisher

This study reveals why the back feathers of a common kingfisher show various non‐iridescent blueish structural colors by analyzing the internal structures of the feathers. It demonstrates how structural differences lead to the different optical interactions, thereby producing different colors.
