Photonic Crystal Enhanced Microscopy on a 2D Photonic Crystal Surface

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
This work demonstrates the design, fabrication, and the first‐time test of a 2D photonic crystal surface for photonic resonator absorption microscopy. The designed surface uniformly enhances electromagnetic near fields, achieving > 100% improved detecting uniformity for surface‐captured AuNPs from a blocking biosensor assay aimed for detecting SARS‐CoV‐

“Three‐Color” Chemical Selectivity between Oxide, Nitride, and Silicon: Area‐Selective Deposition of Metal Oxide and Polymer on SiN and Si‐H versus SiO2

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Molybdenum hexafluoride as a pretreatment is able to create a chemical contrast between SiN and SiO2 surfaces via selective fluorine passivation of the oxide. One dose of MoF6 enabled 9.7 nm of selective deposited TiO2 on SiN versus SiO2 with selectivity >0.92 on a nanoscale SiN/SiO2 patterned surface.

Configurable 3D‐Printed Microstructured Stamp as a User‐Friendly Tool for Versatile Patterning of Low‐Viscosity Bioinks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A technique for precise patterning of highly biocompatible, low‐viscosity bioinks, such as fibrin, is crucial for recapitulating the physical organization of tissues. In this study, a configurable 3D‐printed microstructured stamp with micropillars is used to control the spatial arrangement of low‐viscosity bioinks and to assess cellular interactions ...

Room Temperature Rejuvenation Technology for Irradiated Gallium Nitride Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
High temperature annealing has been the main defect mitigation technology since the Bronze age. We propose a room temperatureannealing technique that could be effective for electrically conducting materials. The new technique is demonstrated on a Gallium Nitride high electron mobility transistor undergoing radiation damage.
