Sky-glow conscious lighting design
Lighting Research and Technology, 1994As society becomes more environmentally conscious the problems of obtrusive light, and particularly 'sky glow', have led many road lighting engineers to demand full cut-off luminaires emitting no l...

Auroras and Other Glows in the Sea and Sky
2018In this, our last chapter on astronomical objects, we will look at what glows in the sky and in the sea. Some of the phenomena in this chapter take place high and low in Earth’s atmosphere, while one comes from space and another is in the sea. If the Moon is bright in the sky, some of them will be harder to see, so you will have to keep that in mind ...

A photometric model for predicting the sky glow of greenhouses
2006many greenhouses use artificial light to grow plants. Part of this light escapes, scatters in the sky and causes sky glow. Residents in the vicinity complain about the absence of natural darkness. A light scatter model is developed in order to quantify the dose of the sky glow.
