Skyline Diagram: Efficient Space Partitioning for Skyline Queries [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, 2021
Skyline queries are important in many application domains. In this paper, we propose a novel structure Skyline Diagram, which given a set of points, partitions the plane into a set of regions, referred to as skyline polyominos. All query points in the same skyline polyomino have the same skyline query results.

Skyline Query Processing in Sensor Network Based on Data Centric Storage

open access: yesSensors, 2011
Data centric storages for sensor networks have been proposed to efficiently process multi-dimensional range queries as well as exact matches. Usually, a sensor network does not process only one type of the query, but processes various types of queries ...

HI-Sky: Hash Index-Based Skyline Query Processing

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The skyline query has recently attracted a considerable amount of research interest in several fields. The query conducts computations using the domination test, where “domination” means that a data point does not have a worse value than ...

IDSA: An Efficient Algorithm for Skyline Queries Computation on Dynamic and Incomplete Data With Changing States

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Skyline queries have been widely used as an effective query tool in many contemporary database applications. The main concept of skyline queries relies on retrieving the non-dominated tuples in the database which are known skylines.

Skyline Path Queries With Aggregate Attributes

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2016
The skyline path query is a novel extension of skyline queries. A skyline path query retrieves a set of non-dominated paths from origin s to destination t.

Reconciling skyline and ranking queries [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the VLDB Endowment, 2017
Traditionally, skyline and ranking queries have been treated separately as alternative ways of discovering interesting data in potentially large datasets. While ranking queries adopt a specific scoring function to rank tuples, skyline queries return the set of non-dominated tuples and are independent of attribute scales and scoring functions.
