Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

A novel multi-objective SKG-skyline algorithm integrating spatial keyword data transformation

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems
The spatial keyword skyline query effectively addresses user preferences, particularly for location-based service applications. However, existing approaches primarily focus on single-object queries and remain unsuitable for group-based computations.

Atomistic Mechanisms Triggered by Joule Heating Effects in Metallic Cu‐Bi Nanowires for Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bi doped metallic Cu nanowires are promising for spintronics thanks to the stabilization of a giant spin Hall effect. However, heat resulting from current injection forces Bi to leave solution, forcing segregation into monoatomic decorations which evolve into coherent crystalline aggregates.

Beyond Earth: Resilience of Quasi‐2D Perovskite Solar Cells in Space

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In the article (DOI: 10.1002/adma.202520433), Christoph Putz and co‐workers demonstrate rigid quasi‐2D perovskite solar cells operating in low Earth orbit, delivering stable power for more than 100 days under real‐space conditions. In‐orbit performance is correlated with extensive ground‐based thermal and proton‐irradiation studies on rigid and ...

Privacy-Preserving Secure Computation of Skyline Query in Distributed Multi-Party Databases

open access: yesInformation, 2019
Selecting representative objects from a large-scale database is an essential task to understand the database. A skyline query is one of the popular methods for selecting representative objects. It retrieves a set of non-dominated objects.

Transparent Perovskite Light‐Emitting Diodes with Conductive Oxide Top Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transparent perovskite light‐emitting diodes (TrPeLEDs) enable simultaneous display and transparency, expanding application possibilities. Using a metal oxide buffer layer and pulsed laser deposition, TrPeLEDs with diverse compositions and architectures are demonstrated.

Skyline computation for frequent queries in update intensive environment

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences, 2016
The skyline queries produce the tuples which are ‘promising’ on the dimensions of the user’s interest. The popular datasets often get queried by the users where dimensions of the user queries often overlap.

Parallelizing Skyline Queries for Scalable Distribution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Skyline queries help users make intelligent decisions over complex data, where different and often conflicting criteria are considered. Current skyline computation methods are restricted to centralized query processors, limiting scalability and imposing a single point of failure.

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.
