Extended Skyrme Interaction in the Spin Channel [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical Physics Supplement, 2010
Most of the Skyrme interactions are known to predict spin or isospin instabilities beyond the saturation density of nuclear matter which contradict predictions based on realistic interactions. A modification of the standard Skyrme interaction is proposed so that the ferromagnetic instability is removed.

Skyrme interaction and nuclear matter constraints [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 2012
This paper presents a detailed assessment of the ability of the 240 Skyrme interaction parameter sets in the literature to satisfy a series of criteria derived from macroscopic properties of nuclear matter in the vicinity of nuclear saturation density at zero temperature and their density dependence, derived by the liquid drop model, experiments with ...

The Interaction Energy of Well-Separated Skyrme Solitons [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 2004
We prove that the asymptotic field of a Skyrme soliton of any degree has a non-trivial multipole expansion. It follows that every Skyrme soliton has a well-defined leading multipole moment. We derive an expression for the linear interaction energy of well-separated Skyrme solitons in terms of their leading multipole moments.

The tensor part of Skyrme's interaction [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics, 1977
Abstract A tensor part is added to central and spin-orbit parts of Skyrme's effective interaction and its contribution to the Hartree-Fock spin-orbit coupling of spherical spin-unsaturated nuclei is analysed. Minor improvements to spin-orbit splittings can be achieved if the strengths of the tensor interaction are treated as free parameters, but the ...

Influence of Skyrme-type interaction on HICs observables

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
A new version of the improved quantum molecular dynamics model has been developed by including Skyrme type momentum dependent interaction. 12 Skyrme like parameter sets {K0, S0, L, m*s, m*v} are adopted in the transport model code to calculate the ...

Role of the Skyrme tensor force in heavy-ion fusion [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
We make use of the Skyrme effective nuclear interaction within the time-dependent Hartree-Fock framework to assess the effect of inclusion of the tensor terms of the Skyrme interaction on the fusion window of the 16O–16O reaction.

Hartree-Fock calculations with Skyrme's interaction

open access: yesPhysics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics, 1970
Abstract Hartree-Fock calculations have been made for closed shell nuclei using a form of density dependent nucleon-nucleon interaction suggested by Skyrme. The results are very good for binding-energies, densities and energies of single particle levels near the Fermi level. Calculations have been made in one superheavy nucleus.

Spin–orbit splitting and the tensor component of the Skyrme interaction [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2007
We study the role of the tensor term of the Skyrme effective interactions on the spin-orbit splittings in the N=82 isotones and Z=50 isotopes. The different role of the triplet-even and triplet-odd tensor forces is pointed out by analyzing the spin-orbit splittings in these nuclei.

New Skyrme interaction with improved spin-isospin properties [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 2012
A correct determination of the spin-isospin properties of the nuclear effective interaction should lead, among other improvements, to an accurate description of the Gamow-Teller Resonance (GTR). These nuclear excitations impact on a variety of physical processes: from the response in charge-exchange reactions of nuclei naturally present in the Earth ...
