In this article we aim to determine the baryon numbers at which the minimal energy Skyrmion has icosahedral symmetry. By comparing polyhedra which arise as minimal energy Skyrmions with the dual of polyhedra that minimize the energy of Coulomb charges on a sphere, we are led to conjecture a sequence of magic baryon numbers, B=7,17,37,67,97,…, at which ...

Magnetic skyrmion braids [PDF]
AbstractSkyrmions are vortex-like spin textures that form strings in magnetic crystals. Due to the analogy to elastic strings, skyrmion strings are naturally expected to braid and form complex three-dimensional patterns, but this phenomenon has not been explored yet.

Skyrmion Echo in a System of Interacting Skyrmions
We consider helical rotation of skyrmions confined in the potentials formed by nano-disks. Based on numerical and analytical calculations we propose the skyrmion echo phenomenon. The physical mechanism of the skyrmion echo formation is also proposed.

Skyrmion size in skyrmion crystals
A magnetic skyrmion is a topological object that can exist as a solitary embedded in the vast ferromagnetic phase, or coexists with a group of its "siblings" in various stripy phases as well as skyrmion crystals (SkXs). Isolated skyrmions and skyrmions in an SkX are circular while a skyrmion in other phases is a stripe of various forms.

We make a numerical study of the classical solutions of the combined system consisting of the Georgi–Glashow model and the SO(3) gauged Skyrme model. Both monopole-Skyrmion and dyon-Skyrmion solutions are found. A new bifurcation is shown to occur in the gauged Skyrmion solution sector.

Skyrmions are topological solitons that describe baryons within a nonlinear theory of pions. In holographic QCD, baryons correspond to topological solitons in a bulk theory with an extra spatial dimension. Thus, the three-dimensional Skyrmion lifts to a four-dimensional holographic Skyrmion in the bulk.
