Skyrmion Lattice in a Chiral Magnet
Skyrmions represent topologically stable field configurations with particle-like properties. We used neutron scattering to observe the spontaneous formation of a two-dimensional lattice of skyrmion lines, a type of magnetic vortices, in the chiral ...

Skyrmion crystals and their symmetries
Physical Review D, 1989We discuss the phase diagram of Skyrmion crystals as a function of both density and pressure. The use of symmetry properties of the various phases and of Fourier expansions tailored to fit these symmetries facilitates our discussion. A simple cubic arrangement of half-Skyrmions is, almost everywhere, the lowest-energy phase.

Skyrmions in nematic liquid crystals
Physical Review E, 2003Analytical solutions for static two-dimensional axisymmetric localized states minimizing the Frank free energy for nematic liquid crystals have been derived. These solitonic structures (skyrmions) include the well-known Belavin-Polyakov solutions as a special case for equal elastic constants.

Skyrmion-Based Dynamic Magnonic Crystal
Nano Letters, 2015A linear array of periodically spaced and individually controllable skyrmions is introduced as a magnonic crystal. It is numerically demonstrated that skyrmion nucleation and annihilation can be accurately controlled by a nanosecond spin polarized current pulse through a nanocontact. Arranged in a periodic array, such nanocontacts allow the creation of

Elastic Stiffness of a Skyrmion Crystal
Physical Review Letters, 2014We observe the elastic stiffness and ultrasonic absorption of a Skyrmion crystal in the chiral-lattice magnet MnSi. The Skyrmion crystal lattice exhibits a stiffness 3 orders of magnitude smaller than that of the atomic lattice of MnSi, being as soft as the flux line lattice in type-II superconductors.

Topological Equivalence of Stripy States and Skyrmion Crystals
Nano Letters, 2023Stripy states, consisting of a collection of stripy spin textures, are the precursors of skyrmion crystals (SkXs). The common belief is that stripy states and SkXs are topologically unconnected and that transitions between SkXs and stripy states are phase transitions.

Understanding Skyrmion Crystal Formation in EuPtSi
JPS Hot Topics, 2021We theoretically demonstrate that the interplay between the spin-charge and spin-orbit couplings in itinerant magnets stabilizes field-direction sensitive, short-period skyrmions. Our results can aid in engineering short-period skyrmions.
