Selective Electrolysis of Water Under Artificial Seawater Conditions Using Transition Metal Borate Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The borate‐based cobalt‐iron catalyst promotes selective oxidation of water rather than chlorine evolution reaction during electrolysis of seawater. When integrated into a zero‐gap electrolyzer prototype, this catalyst supports robust splitting of artificial seawater into oxygen and hydrogen on an extended timescale.

Pilot Experimental Tests on Punching Shear Strength of Flat Plates Reinforced with Stirrups Punching Shear Reinforcement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Flat plates are favor structure systems usually used in parking garages and high-rise buildings due to its simplicity for construction. However, flat plates have some inherent structural problems, due to high shear stress surrounding the supporting ...

A Quantitative Lithium Inventory Framework for Anode‐Free Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A component‐resolved lithium inventory framework quantitatively tracks Li redistribution across the cell in anode‐free NMC622||Cu pouch cells throughout cycling. Three sequential degradation stages are identified: formation‐driven cathode Li depletion, midlife inactive Li0 accumulation, and late‐stage runaway SEI thickening. The cathode, as the sole Li

Development of Flat Slab – Column Interaction with Different Thickness

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
Flat slab – column connection has received much attention in recent years due to its simplicity of construction where beam is not required to support the slab.

Full‐scale Shaking Table Tests on a 10‐story Steel Moment‐resisting Frame Building with Buckling‐restrained Braces

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In February 2023, a comprehensive series of shaking table tests were conducted at the E‐Defense facility, the world's largest three‐dimensional earthquake simulator, on a full‐scale 10‐story steel moment‐resisting frame supplemented with BRBs.

Punching resistance of internal slab-column connections with double-headed shear studs

open access: yesRevista IBRACON de Estruturas e Materiais
Punching shear is a brittle failure mode that may occur in slab-column connections, which may be prevented by using shear reinforcement in the slab-column connection.

Late Quaternary climatic variability in the Eastern Mediterranean recorded in Hermes Cave, Corinth Rift, Greece

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Greek peninsula lies at the intersection of major atmospheric circulation systems, making it a key location for reconstructing past climate variability in the Eastern Mediterranean. In this study, we present a new high‐resolution multi‐proxy speleothem record from Hermes Cave, located on the shoulder of the Corinth Rift in southern Greece.

A Study on the Effects of Punch-to-Span Ratio and Longitudinal Reinforcement Eigenvalues on the Bearing Capacity of RC Slab–Column Connections

open access: yesBuildings
The region of the RC slab–column connection is subject to complex forces and is susceptible to localized damage, leading to progressive collapse incidents, which has raised considerable concern among the engineering community. At present, the research on

A General Framework for Knowledge Integration in Machine Learning for Electromagnetic Scattering Using Quasinormal Modes

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Neural networks can accelerate modeling and inverse design of electromagnetic devices by several orders of magnitude, but usually require large amounts of data to train. This work demonstrates that integrating knowledge about quasinormal modes into the network architecture reduces the required amount of training data significantly, while simultaneously
