Quantification of Direct Benefits of Functional Recovery‐Based Design for Seismic Resilience
Lessons from recent major earthquakes have shown that current life‐safety‐centered seismic design practice falls short in ensuring a desirable post‐hazard recovery. Extensive economic losses, high demolition rates, and long recovery have signified a gap between design targets and society's expectations of seismic performance of code‐compliant buildings.

ABSTRACT This article presents a capacity‐based assessment procedure for beam–column (b–c) joints of reinforced concrete frames with floor slabs and transverse beams. The procedure extends a previously proposed assessment methodology for determining the hierarchy of strengths and the sequence of events in symmetrically reinforced planar b–c joints.

Autonomy for MRI Field Cameras: Synchronization, Self‐Calibration, and Sequence Detection
ABSTRACT Purpose This work aims to provide a workflow for operating NMR field probes in MR scanners independently of pulse programming, scanner TTL trigger pulses and dedicated calibration sequences. Methods An independent timing system and limited prior knowledge about relative probe positions enable synchronous field measurement, probe position ...

This review examines thermo‐ and photocatalytic routes for converting CO2 to ethanol and analyzes how metal alloying, promoters, supports, surface structure, and semiconductor design govern catalyst activity, selectivity, and stability. It integrates mechanistic insights from experimental and theoretical studies and identifies the main challenges and ...

SamudrACE: Fast and Accurate Coupled Climate Modeling With 3D Ocean and Atmosphere Emulators
Abstract Traditional numerical global climate models simulate the full Earth system by exchanging boundary conditions between separate simulators of the atmosphere, ocean, sea ice, land surface, and other geophysical processes. This paradigm allows for distributed development of individual components within a common framework, unified by a coupler that

Climate Warming and Ice Weakening Trigger Alpine Glacier Collapses: The Marmolada Case
Abstract The rapid retreat of temperate mid‐latitude glaciers due to global warming causes dramatic mass loss and increases their instability. Using a synthesis of thermodynamic and mechanical laws, we constructed a three‐dimensional stability model and applied it in the analysis of the collapse of a portion of the Marmolada Glacier in northeastern ...

Brillouin Zone Folding‐Driven Topological Band Flips Based on BICs via Twisted Photonic Crystals
Brillouin zone folding (BZF)‐driven topological band flips are demonstrated via twisted photonic crystals (PhCs) incorporating bound states in the continuum (BICs). Twist perturbation generates three new bands, each linked to either a BIC or a guided‐mode resonance (GMR).

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.
