ABSTRACT This article presents a capacity‐based assessment procedure for beam–column (b–c) joints of reinforced concrete frames with floor slabs and transverse beams. The procedure extends a previously proposed assessment methodology for determining the hierarchy of strengths and the sequence of events in symmetrically reinforced planar b–c joints.

The region of the RC slab–column connection is subject to complex forces and is susceptible to localized damage, leading to progressive collapse incidents, which has raised considerable concern among the engineering community. At present, the research on

Dielectric Resonator Metasurface for Dispersion Engineering
We introduce a practical dielectric metasurface design for microwave frequencies. The metasurface is made of an array of dielectric resonators held together by dielectric connections thus avoiding the need of a mechanical support in the form of a ...

ABSTRACT The Greek peninsula lies at the intersection of major atmospheric circulation systems, making it a key location for reconstructing past climate variability in the Eastern Mediterranean. In this study, we present a new high‐resolution multi‐proxy speleothem record from Hermes Cave, located on the shoulder of the Corinth Rift in southern Greece.

Punching shear in flat slabs with re-entrant corner columns [PDF]
Studies on slab-column connections supported on re-entrant corners are limited. Although design standards generally provide detailed guidelines for internal, edge, and corner connections, re-entrant corner connections are overlooked in these standards ...
