Comparative Study Of Conventional Slab, Flat Slab And Grid Slab Using ETABS

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
Abstract In today’s construction, the traditional slab is mostly supported by a beam, with a small slab thickness and a large beam depth, and the weight is carried from beam to column. The flat slab allows architects to place partition walls wherever they are needed. It is widely used because it reduces weight, speeds up building, and is

Dimensional Behavior of Nail-Laminated Timber-Concrete Composite Caused by Changes in Ambient Air, and Correlation among Temperature, Relative Humidity, and Strain

open access: yesBioResources, 2023
A timber-concrete composite (TCC) slab composed of nail-laminated timber (NLT) and topping concrete (TC) was developed for flooring applications. The NLT was laminated alternately with lumber and plywood.

Effect of concrete strength and thickness of flat slab on preventing of progressive collapse caused by elimination of an internal column [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Structural and Construction Engineering, 2019
Designing structures against progressive collapse is an important part of the building design. However, some guidelines such as GSA and UFC holds implications for reducing the risk of progressive collapse of structures, but because the nature of the ...

Aging and distributional tone learning: the role of pitch memory in older adults’ discrimination of mandarin lexical tones

open access: yesLanguage and Cognition
Distributional learning enables listeners to form phonetic categories by extracting statistical regularities from speech input. Younger Cantonese speakers can acquire the Mandarin level-falling (T1–T4) contrast through distributional learning, with ...

Review of seismic velocity anomalies in the lower mantle

open access: yes地球与行星物理论评, 2023
The lower mantle accounts for more than 50% of the total volume of the Earth, and influences the evolution of the Earth. Early studies showed that the lower mantle is relatively homogeneous, but since the 1970s, seismic tomography revealed the velocity ...

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries
