Some features of the structure of the mantle of the Eastern Mediterranean and their geodynamic interpretation

open access: yesГеофизический журнал, 2016
We consider specific velocity anomalies and the corresponding mantle structures of the East Mediterranean-Black Sea-Caspian region. The anomalies are located on latitudinal and longitudinal seismic tomography sections obtained by constructing 3D P ...

Ateliers primaires de l’Égypte gréco-romaine : le site de Beni Salama dans le Wadi Natrun

open access: yesArchéopages, 2010
The Beni Salama Site in the region of Wadi Natrun is of key importance if we are to understand the role of Egypt in the glass-making industry of antiquity. Excavations on ancient glass-making sites in the Near East suggested that similar furnaces existed

3D Printed Ultra‐Fast Plastic Scintillators Based on Perovskite‐Photocurable Polymer Composite

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The demand for radiation detection is increasing in a number of fields, including high‐energy physics, medical imaging, and homeland security. This study serves to demonstrate the potential for the fabrication of fast perovskite‐based scintillators with complex shapes via stereolithographic additive manufacturing, representing a new path toward the ...

EVALUATION OF ELASTIC DEFLECTIONS AND BENDING MOMENTS FOR ORTHOTROPICALLY REINFORCED CONCRETE RECTANGULAR SLABS SUPPORTED ON THREE EDGES ONLY AND SUBJECTED TO TRIANGULAR LOAD

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2009
This paper deals with the evaluation of the elastic deflections and bending moments for orthotropically reinforced concrete rectangular slabs supported on three variously restrained edges with the fourth edge free and subjected to triangular load ...

Aseismic Deep Slab and Mantle Flow Beneath Alaska: Insight From Anisotropic Tomography

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 2019
We present high‐resolution 3‐D images of P wave velocity (Vp), azimuthal anisotropy (AAN), and radial anisotropy (RAN) down to 900‐km depth beneath Alaska obtained by inverting a large number of high‐quality arrival time data from local earthquakes and ...

Which Chromium–Sulfur Compounds Exist as 2D Material?

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D chromium sulfides synthesized using molecular beam epitaxy on graphene. Structural characterization reveals two novel 2D materials, Cr2S3‐2D, which lacks a direct bulk counterpart, and Cr223S${\rm Cr}_{2\frac{2}{3}}{\rm S}$4‐2D, a minimum thickness version of Cr5S6. However, attempts to synthesize CrS2 are unsuccessful. Both new 2D phases are stable

A slab in depth: Three‐dimensional geometry and evolution of the Indo‐Australian plate

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2007
Geoscientists use plate tectonics to explain many aspects of both continental evolution and evolution of the planet as a whole. The subduction of material at convergent plate boundaries forms a fundamental component to the theory of plate tectonics ...

Effective Compressive Strengths of Corner and Edge Concrete Columns Based on an Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
In the current design codes, the effective compressive strength can be used to reflect decrease in load-transfer performance when upper/lower columns and slabs have different concrete compressive strengths.

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries
