ABSTRACT Ultrathin, lightweight, and mechanically compliant electromagnetic interference (EMI) shields are increasingly required for high‐frequency electronic devices. However, conventional metallic shields predominantly rely on conductivity‐driven reflection mechanisms, which become ineffective at reduced thickness and may cause severe secondary ...

Low eigenvalues of the p$p$–Laplacian in general open sets
Abstract We consider the minmax Ljusternik–Schnirelmann levels of the constrained p$p$–Dirichlet integral on a general open set of the Euclidean space. We show that, whenever one of these levels lies below the threshold given by the Lp$L^p$ Poincaré constant “at infinity,” it actually defines an eigenvalue of the Dirichlet p$p$–Laplacian. We also prove

A Green Slab Waveguide for Plasmonic Sensors Based on Bacterial Cellulose
We use as optical waveguide a green composite, based on bacterial cellulose (BC). More specifically, we have sputtered a thin gold film on this innovative slab waveguide for obtaining a Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) sensor.

Integrated optical phased arrays are emerging as scalable engines for solid‐state beam steering and programmable wavefront control. This Review maps the field from beam‐steering principles and core building blocks to material platforms, system‐level bottlenecks, and application frontiers, highlighting how heterogeneous integration, aperiodic ...

Leaky Modes of Waveguides as a Classical Optics Analogy of Quantum Resonances
A classical optics waveguide structure is proposed to simulate resonances of short range one-dimensional potentials in quantum mechanics. The analogy is based on the well-known resemblance between the guided and radiation modes of a waveguide with the ...

Vortex Light Bullets Guided by Disclination Defects
A new class of stable and thresholdless light bullets carrying vorticity, guided by the disclination defects introduced into Su–Schrieffer–Heeger‐like lattices with a focusing cubic nonlinearity, is reported. Different discrete rotational symmetry of the aperiodic lattice determines the allowed values of the topological charge of the vortex bullets ...

This work introduces a methodology for the design of X-band microwave absorbers using carbon-graphite powder composites. The reflection loss (RL) is adjusted through variations in sample thickness, mono/bi-slab geometries, and effective dielectric ...

We predict the enhanced transparency of a modulated slab of layered superconductor for terahertz radiation due to the diffraction of an incident wave and the resonance excitation of eigenmodes. The electromagnetic field is transferred from the irradiated

Efficient Color Filters Based on Fano-Like Guided-Mode Resonances in Photonic Crystal Slabs
We numerically report designs of color filters comprising of 2-D photonic crystal (2D-PhC) slabs of square lattice of air holes. The filter principle is based on excited Fano-like guided-mode resonances (GMRs) in the visible regime with high-quality ...
