From Green Strategy to Sustainable Development: Corporate Efforts Toward SDG 12 and SDG 13

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Firms are increasingly integrating United Nations Development Goals 12 (Responsible consumption and production) and 13 (Climate action) as a part of their sustainability strategies. However, prior research has rarely examined how these SDGs interact as a unified capability rather than as isolated practices.

Influence of Steel Recycling on Phase Transformation in Medium‐Manganese Third‐Generation Advanced High‐Strength Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
On the pathway to climate‐neutral steel production, recycling fractions will necessarily increase over time. Since alloying elements will enrich progressively, as they cannot be removed economically from the melt, processes need to be adjusted.

Pozzolanic benefit of fly ash and steel slag blends in the development of uniaxial compressive strength of lime stabilized soil

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería, 2018
This investigation involved the examination of pozzolanic benefits that resulted from the amendment of lime stabilization of a soil by using a combination of two industrial wastes viz. Fly ash (FA) and Steel Slag (SS).

Recycling End‐of‐Life Solid Oxide Cell Interconnect Assemblies into Commercial‐Grade AISI 304 Stainless Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study validates a recycling pathway for converting interconnect assemblies from end‐of‐life SOC stacks into commercial‐grade AISI 304 steels. Using scrap‐based steelmaking operations, austenitic cast steels with <4.0% δ‐ferrite are successfully produced.

The Effect of Blast Furnace Slag/Fly Ash Ratio on Setting, Strength, and Shrinkage of Alkali-Activated Pastes and Concretes

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2019
The aim of this study was to determine the effects of partial fly ash substitution in to a series of alkali-activated concrete based on a high-MgO blast furnace slag BFS.

Vibrational Analysis of Steelmaking Ladles: Findings from Industrial and Laboratory Studies for Model Development and Stirring Optimization

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Vibration signals are generated by argon gas injection in molten metal and are measured in both industrial and laboratory ladles. Distinct frequency bands are identified, corresponding to bubble formation and rupture. The results demonstrate that vibration analysis can provide valuable insights into bubble dynamics and support optimization of gas ...

Aligning Real‐Time Recurrence Computational Fluid Dynamics Simulations with Plant Data for the Ruhrstahl–Heraeus Degassing Process of Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Uncertainties exist in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of complex metallurgical processes, even when partly validated by laboratory experiments. rCFD enables computationally efficient prediction of long‐term RH degassing and can be adapted to vary flow conditions.

Effect of Oxide Systems on Purity of Tool Steels Fabricated by Electro Slag Remelting

open access: yesMolecules
The purity of a steel is an important factor influencing the quality of the final products. Therefore, it is important to optimize the existing and develop new steelmaking technologies that affect the resulting purity.

Thermodynamic Modeling of Sn–C and Fe–Sn–C Systems for the Tramp Elements Control in Steel Production

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
A CALculation of PHAse Diagrams thermodynamic modeling for Fe–Sn–C system is carried out. The model and the developed database can be used to calculate phase diagrams and thermodynamic properties of this system over wide temperature/composition range, and a part of a larger thermodynamic database for steel and alloy system, and effectively used to ...

Computational Fluid Dynamic‐Discrete Element Method Study of Biocarbon Injection in Electric Arc Furnaces Using Shrouding Jet Injectors

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study uses coupled computational fluid dynamic‐discrete element method (CFD–DEM) simulations to investigate biomass particle injection through a shrouded lance in electric arc furnaces (EAFs). It examines how biomass properties, feed rate, and lance design affect particle dispersion and delivery efficiency.
