ABSTRACT In 2019, the Dadan Archaeological Project (CNRS/RCU/AFALULA) identified a Late Antique village 1 km south of ancient Dadan in the al‐ʿUlā valley (northwest Saudi Arabia). Three excavation seasons at this site (2021–2023) have uncovered a massive building constructed in the late third or early fourth cent.

Effects of soil physical properties on dung beetle assemblages in pasture landscapes of the Brazilian Cerrado

We assessed the effect of the type of soil texture (loamy sand and sandy loam) and its physical properties on dung beetle species assemblages in a pastureland region of the Brazilian Cerrado. Production of arsenical bronze using speiss on the Elephantine Island (Aswan, Egypt) during the Middle Kingdom (Middle Bronze Age) (c.2000–1650 BCE)

Abstract This paper presents the first direct evidence of the slags produced during the cementation alloying process of Cu with speiss inside ceramic crucibles, thus representing Cu alloying with As in Middle Kingdom Egypt. The settlement deposits from the Middle Bronze Age were excavated on Elephantine Island, within modern Aswan.
