Weld quality and dynamic corrosion behavior of ship pipeline systems

open access: yesAIP Advances
Three types of specimens (defect-free, with porosity defects, and with slag inclusions) were prepared via manual arc welding of Q355 steel. The effects of welding defects on the dynamic corrosion of ship pipeline systems under different conditions were ...

Influence of industrial solid waste addition on properties of soil-cement bricks

open access: yesCerâmica
The reuse of pollutant solid wastes produced in distinct industrial activities (avian eggshell waste and welding flux slag waste) as a source of alternative raw material for producing soil-cement bricks for civil construction was investigated.

Multi-Skein Invariants for Welded and Extended Welded Knots and Links [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
The theory of welded and extended welded knots is a generalization of classical knot theory. Welded (resp. extended welded) knot diagrams include virtual crossings (resp. virtual crossings and wen marks) and are equivalent under an extended set of Reidemeister-type moves.

GGR Handbook of Rock and Mineral Analysis Chapter 2 (Part 1) Analysis of Geological Materials – 1: Sample Preparation Methods

open access: yesGeostandards and Geoanalytical Research, Volume 49, Issue 1, Page 9-50, March 2025.
Key Points Comprehensive review of dissolution‐decomposition methods based on acid attack and molten salt fusion. Dissolution remains the preferred method for many modern instrumental measurement principles e.g., ICP‐MS, ICP‐AES and TIMS. Comprehensive reviews of flux-free fusion for glasses and production of pressed powder pellets for analysis by EPMA,

AN INDUSTRIAL INSPECTION APPROACH FOR WELD DEFECTS USING MACHINE LEARNING ALGORITHM

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advances in Signal and Image Sciences, 2019
The weld defects are formed due to the incorrect welding patterns or wrong welding process. The defects in the weld may vary from size, shape and their projected quality.

Effect of shielding gas composition and welding speed on autogenous welds of unalloyed tungsten plates [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Tungsten usually exhibits poor weldability and marked brittleness at room temperature. This cause tungsten welds to be affected by the evolution of cracks along the weld bead, which can be eliminated by using a pre-heating step to reduce thermal straining.

In situ quasi-elastic neutron scattering study on the water dynamics and reaction mechanisms in alkali-activated slags [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this study, in situ quasi-elastic neutron scattering (QENS) has been employed to probe the water dynamics and reaction mechanisms occurring during the formation of NaOH- and Na2SiO3-activated slags, an important class of low-CO2 cements, in conjunction with isothermal conduction calorimetry (ICC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR ...

Quality Diagnosis for Rocket Body Structure Manufacturing Process Based on Product Quality DNA

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2025.
By referring to the principle of biological DNA, a knowledge‐based quality diagnosis strategy is adopted, and a quality diagnosis method for the rocket body structure manufacturing process based on product quality DNA is proposed in this paper. ABSTRACT In the current multivariety and small‐batch production mode, it is difficult to fully reflect the ...
