Fast Process Development Made Possible Using an Easy to Duplicate Integrated Microfluidic Platform

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2026.
We present a next‐generation microfluidic platform that accelerates membrane process development through integrated flow control, inline XRF monitoring, and machine‐learning‐assisted optimization. Demonstrated with a charged nanosheet membrane selectively recovering silver from real e‐waste leachates, the system enables rapid, Iow‐consumption, real ...

Research on the Discrimination of Acoustic Emission Signal Transmission Modes for Void Damage in Concrete‐Filled Steel Tubes

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 10, October 2026.
Acoustic emission transmission modes for void damage in concrete‐filled steel tubes. ABSTRACT Concrete‐filled steel tubes (CFST) have been extensively employed in large‐scale construction projects as high‐performance composite structural members. Nevertheless, varying degrees of void damage frequently occur in CFST due to construction quality issues ...

Study on Corrosion and Thermal Alteration of MgAl2O4 and MgO Ceramics With Lead at 750 °C for Use in High‐Temperature Thermal Energy Storage

open access: yesEnergy Technology, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
The chemical compatibility of five commercial ceramics with varying MgO and Al2O3 content is studied in contact with liquid lead (Pb) at 700 °C for potential use in high‐temperature Pb‐based thermal energy storage. After 1008 h of static exposure, the samples are analyzed using a scanning electron microscope coupled with energy‐dispersive spectroscopy ...

Screening of Ceramic Filler Materials for a Packed‐Bed Thermal Energy Storage System With Lead as Heat Transfer Fluid

open access: yesEnergy Storage, Volume 8, Issue 7, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Liquid lead (Pb) is an attractive heat transfer fluid (HTF) for packed‐bed thermal energy storage (TES) systems aimed for high temperatures. However, liquid Pb is corrosive and its corrosivity increases with rising temperature. Therefore, compatibility tests of possible filler materials with Pb are mandatory.
