Slag Splashing: simulation and analysis of the slags conditions
The successful application of the repair and prevention of LD converters refractories technique called Slag Splashing requires a close control of the slag physicochemical properties (basicity, viscosity and surface tension), as well as suitable selection of operational parameters and geometric configurations.

Modeling of a coal-fired slagging combustor: Development of a slag submodel
In a slagging combustor or furnace, the high combustion temperature makes the molten slag layer cover the wall and capture the particles. If these particles contain combustible matter, they will continue to burn on the running slag.

An improved index to predict the slagging propensity of woody biomass on high-temperature regions in utility boilers [PDF]
Ash deposition-related issues adversely affect the thermal transfer and cause corrosion to biomass fired utility boilers. Various models have been proposed to estimate the slagging propensities for firing biomass fuels of different origins.

ABSTRACT Extreme heat has become a recurring operational challenge that disrupts production, raises energy and maintenance needs, and makes it harder for firms to sustain environmental performance. However, it remains less clear whether AI‐related capability is associated with firms' ability to maintain environmental performance under recurring extreme‐

Graphene Materials for Sustainable Energy Applications: A Contemporary Perspective
ABSTRACT Graphene has garnered significant attention as a promising material with great potential for contributing to sustainable energy initiatives, such as RE100 (100% renewable energy initiative) and CF100 (100% carbon‐free initiative). This review aims to explore the potential of graphene for advancing renewable energy applications by highlighting

Fe–Mn heterojunctions in CaO‐based dual‐functional materials create a built‐in electric field that drives electron transfer. This process generates oxygen vacancies and facilitates CO2 activation, achieving superior conversion. Waste‐derived Fe/Ca oxides enable low‐cost, thermally stable materials, offering a strategy for sustainable carbon capture and

Synthesis and characterization of sugarcane bagasse‐derived activated carbon via KOH‐assisted dry and wet activation. ABSTRACT This study explores the impact of activation processes on the morphological properties of activated carbon. Carbon is initially produced through vacuum pyrolysis at three temperatures (500°C, 600°C, and 700°C), with a heating ...
