Regular snoring is associated with uncontrolled hypertension

open access: yesnpj Digital Medicine
Snoring may be a risk factor for cardiovascular disease independent of other co-morbidities. However, most prior studies have relied on subjective, self-report, snoring evaluation.

Enhancing Small Molecule Sensing With Aptameric Functionalized Nano Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Unveiling an ultra‐sensitive, non‐invasive neurotransmitter sensor. For the first time, a nanoscale sensor for detecting an important neurotransmitter was demonstrated using micro‐electromechanical systems (MEMS) technology. Our approach utilized field‐effect transistor (FET)‐based readout to enable pico‐molar detection of biomarkers in sweat.

Stretchable and Strain‐Tolerant Gold‐Coated Fibrous Biosensor for Superoxide Anion Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A breathable, stretchable gold nanomesh–TPU fiber platform is developed via controlled electroless deposition, enabling uniform through‐thickness conductivity while preserving porosity. Functionalized with superoxide dismutase, the system achieves selective, real‐time electrochemical detection of superoxide with high sensitivity, mechanical durability,

To sleep or not to sleep

open access: yes, 2008
The main goal of this dissertation was to gain more insight into the sleep-wake behavior of intensive care unit patients and the factors that disturb it. At the beginning of this project, we firmly believed that patients experienced abnormal sleep-wake behavior. This was based on clinical observations and several (subjective) publications.

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...
