Design of Slepian-Wolf codes by channel code partitioning

Data Compression Conference, 2004. Proceedings. DCC 2004, 2004
A Slepian-Wolf coding scheme that can achieve arbitrary rate allocation among two encoders was outlined in the work of Pradhan and Ramchandran. Inspired by this work, we start with a detailed solution for general (asymmetric or symmetric) Slepian-Wolf coding based on partitioning a single systematic channel code, and continue with practical code ...

Slepian-Wolf SPIHT video coding scheme without feedback

2008 International Symposium on Information Technology, 2008
The proposed scheme is an extension from Set Partitioning In Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT) algorithm. It combines the SPIHT algorithm with Slepian-Wolf (SW) theorem. In most of the video coding scheme that adapted the Slepian-Wolf or Wyner-Ziv (WZ) theorem, a feedback channel is usually incorporated to correct errors that occurred at the decoder side. The

On the Duality between Slepian-Wolf Coding and Channel Coding

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2006
In this paper we investigate the relationship between Slepian-Wolf (S-W) coding and channel coding. It is shown that any S-W coding problem is dual to a channel coding problem for a semi-symmetric channel. This result holds for any stationary, ergodic source-side information pair with finite alphabet.

Non-asymptotic fixed-rate Slepian-Wolf coding theorem

2012 50th Annual Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing (Allerton), 2012
Traditionally, Slepian-Wolf (SW) coding theorem relies on source sequences with length tending to infinity. However, in practice, the source sequences are of finite length. Towards closing this gap, we obtain non-asymptotic achievability and non-asymptotic converse for the fixed-rate SW coding by applying the NEP theorem.

Cooperative spectrum sensing with Slepian-Wolf coded cooperations

2012 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2012
A new Slepian-Wolf coded cooperation scheme is proposed for a cognitive radio network with two secondary users (SUs) performing cooperative spectrum sensing through a fusion center (FC). The SUs sense the spectrum by measuring the energy statistics of the received signals.

Slepian-Wolf video coding with resolution-progressive transmission

2017 International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS), 2017
In this paper, we propose a new Slepian-Wolf (SW) video coding that supports resolution-progressive transmission. It can realize low-delay low-resolution real time streaming as well as high lossless coding efficiency. Intra-frame video coding is performed as the base layer coder for down-sampled input video and a SW coder is used as the enhancement ...

Easier Encoding-Decoding Distributed Arithmetic Coding for Slepian-Wolf Coding

2012
Distributed Arithmetic Coding (DAC) is an effective implementation of Slepian-Wolf problem. In this paper, the coding theory of DAC is introduced including two implements for asymmetric Slepian-Wolf problem, Distributed Overlap Arithmetic Coding (DOAC) and Distributed Quasi-Arithmetic Coding (DQAC). Both of the implementation schemes are analyzed.
