Distributed Source Coding and Its Applications in Relaying-Based Transmission
Distributed source coding (DSC) schemes rely on separate encoding but joint decoding of statistically dependent sources, which exhibit correlation. DSC has numerous promising applications ranging from reduced-complexity handheld video communications to ...

LDPC code design for asynchronous Slepian-Wolf coding [PDF]
We consider asynchronous Slepian-Wolf coding where the two encoders may not have completely accurate timing information to synchronize their individual block code boundaries, and propose LDPC code design in this scenario. A new information-theoretic coding scheme based on source splitting is provided, which can achieve the entire asynchronous Slepian ...

Distributed Arithmetic Coding for the Slepian–Wolf Problem [PDF]
Distributed source coding schemes are typically based on the use of channels codes as source codes. In this paper we propose a new paradigm, named ldquodistributed arithmetic coding, rdquo which extends arithmetic codes to the distributed case employing sequential decoding aided by the side information.

We provide a novel achievability proof of the Slepian-Wolf theorem for i.i.d. sources over finite alphabets. We demonstrate that random codes that are linear over the real field achieve the classical Slepian-Wolf rate-region. For finite alphabets we show that typicality decoding is equivalent to solving an integer program.

BEST FIT MODELS TEST FOR THE VIRTUAL CHANNEL IN DISTRIBUTED VIDEO CODING [PDF]
Wyner-Ziv (WZ) video coding – a particular case of distributed video coding (DVC) – is a new video coding paradigm based on two major Information Theory results: the Slepian-Wolf and Wyner-Ziv theorems.

TRANSFORM DOMAIN SLICE BASED DISTRIBUTED VIDEO CODING [PDF]
Distributed video coding depends heavily on the virtual channel model. Due to the limitations of the side information estimation one stationary model does not properly describe the virtual channel. In this work the correlation noise is modelled per slice

Iterative Multiview Side Information for Enhanced Reconstruction in Distributed Video Coding
Distributed video coding (DVC) is a new paradigm for video compression based on the information theoretical results of Slepian and Wolf (SW) and Wyner and Ziv (WZ).

Distributed Joint Source-Channel Coding-Based Adaptive Dynamic Network Coding
Distributed Source Coding (DSC) schemes rely on separate encoding but joint decoding of statistically dependent sources, which exhibit correlation. More specifically, Distributed Joint Source-Channel coding (DJSC) is associated with the scenario, where ...

Multiple Description Coding with Side Information: Practical Scheme and Iterative Decoding
Multiple description coding (MDC) with side information (SI) at the receiver is particularly relevant for robust transmission in sensor networks where correlated data is being transmitted to a common receiver, as well as for robust video compression. The
