Rheumatoid Arthritis and Coronary Artery Calcium Progression: A Case Cohort Analysis From ELSA‐Brasil

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To investigate the association between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and coronary artery calcium (CAC) prevalence, incidence, and progression over four years in adults without prior cardiovascular disease. Methods A case‐cohort study within the Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Adult Health (ELSA‐Brasil) included 585 participants (86 patients with ...

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Landau’s theorem for slice regular functions on the quaternionic unit ball [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
During the development of the theory of slice regular functions over the real algebra of quaternions [Formula: see text] in the last decade, some natural questions arose about slice regular functions on the open unit ball [Formula: see text] in [Formula:

Quaternionic Slice Regular Functions and Quaternionic Laplace Transforms

open access: yesActa Mathematica Scientia, 2022
The functions studied in the paper are quaternion-valued functions of a quaternionic variable. It is show that the left slice regular functions and right slice regular functions are related by a particular involution. The relation between left slice regular functions, right slice regular functions and intrinsic regular functions is revealed.

Enhancing Strength and Electrical Conductivity in Al–Zr–Sc Conductor Alloys Through Sn and Sr Microalloying and Two‐Step Aging Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Trace additions of Sn and Sr combined with a two‐step aging treatment are shown to enhance the microstructure and performance of Al–Zr–Sc conductor alloys. Strength and electrical conductivity increase concurrently through accelerated precipitation of fine Al3(Sc, Zr) precipitates and improved dislocation resistance, offering a cost‐effective pathway ...

A representation formula for slice regular functions over slice-cones in several variables

open access: yes, 2020
The aim of this paper is to extend the so called slice analysis to a general case in which the codomain is a real vector space of even dimension, i.e. is of the form $\mathbb{R}^{2n}$. We define a cone $\mathcal{W}_\mathcal{C}^d$ in $[End(\mathbb{R}^{2n})

On Geometric Aspects of Quaternionic and Octonionic Slice Regular Functions [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Geometric Analysis, 2017
The purpose of this paper is twofold. One is to enrich from a geometrical point of view the theory of octonionic slice regular functions. We first prove a boundary Schwarz lemma for slice regular self-mappings of the open unit ball of the octonionic space.

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Quaternionic Hankel operators and approximation by slice regular functions

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we study Hankel operators in the quaternionic setting. In particular, we prove that they can be exploited to measure the L^infty distance of a slice L^infty function (i.e., an essentially bounded function on the quaternionic unit sphere ...
