Consecutive sliding window systems
Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2011This paper proposes a new model that generalizes the linear multi-state sliding window system to the case of m consecutive overlapping windows. In this model the system consists of n linearly ordered multi-state elements. Each element can have different states: from complete failure up to perfect functioning.

Effective Computations on Sliding Windows
SIAM Journal on Computing, 2010In the streaming model, elements arrive sequentially and can be observed only once. Maintaining statistics and aggregates is an important and nontrivial task in this model. These tasks become even more challenging in the sliding windows model, where statistics must be maintained only over the most recent $n$ elements.

Modeling the sliding window mechanism
ICC '98. 1998 IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Record. Affiliated with SUPERCOMM'98 (Cat. No.98CH36220), 2002The sliding window (SW) mechanism is widely used for policing schemes in the frame relay network. Many performance studies have already been performed. All of them have considered the algorithmic description, the only one available till now for the SW. A queueing model is given for the SW mechanism. Its conformity to the algorithmic behaviour is proved

Sorted sliding window compression
Proceedings DCC'99 Data Compression Conference (Cat. No. PR00096), 1999Summary form only given. Sorted sliding window compression (SSWC) uses a new model (sorted sliding window model, SSWM) to encode strings efficiently, which appear again while encoding a symbol sequence. The SSWM holds statistics of all strings up to a certain length k in a sliding window of size n.

Sliding-Window Aggregation Algorithms
Proceedings of the 11th ACM International Conference on Distributed and Event-based Systems, 2017Stream processing is important for analyzing continuous streams of data in real time. Sliding-window aggregation is both needed for many streaming applications and surprisingly hard to do efficiently. Picking the wrong aggregation algorithm causes poor performance, and knowledge of the right algorithms and when to use them is scarce.

Analysis of the Sliding Window Powering Algorithm
Journal of Cryptology, 2004Let \(G\) be a group, \(g\in G\) and \(N\) be a positive integer. The sliding window powering algorithm is used for the efficient computation of \(g^N\). The purpose of the paper under review is to analyze precisely the behavior of this algorithm. Moreover, this analysis is applied to the case of the group of an elliptic curve defined over a large ...
