Slip Casting Under Pressure

2008
The addition of a pressure during slip casting increases the rate of material deposition and enables larger pieces to be fabricated. In this study, this process has been further developed using monolithic Al2O3 and Al2O3-SiC composites. Slip casting formulations based on both dispersed and coagulated slurries have been analyzed.

[Slip casting: design and processing].

Les Cahiers de prothese, 1990
With the "In-Ceram" system ceramic constructions are made without any metallic support. The cosmetic ceramic (Vitadur N) is reinforced by an aluminous oxide framework made with a bio-ceramic containing 85% aluminium. The nature of this bio-ceramic and its use provide the originality of this procedure.

SLIP CASTING OF ALUMINUM OXIDE*

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1949
A bstract Fused alumina, after being subjected to ball milling and acid treatment, may be suspended in water to form a slip. Deflocculation is obtained by the addition of the proper amount and type of either an acid or a base.

Slip casting of alumina ceramics

2017
Slip casting as a colloidal shaping method is one of the most common forming techniques, used in commercial production of different advanced ceramics. Colloidal shaping methods enable to achieve high microstructural homogeneity in green and sintered parts and offer near net shaping capabilities that reduce post-sintering machining and production costs.
