Design Strategies and Emerging Applications of High‐Performance Flexible Piezoresistive Pressure Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Flexible piezoresistive pressure sensors underpin wearable and soft electronics. This review links sensing physics, including contact resistance modulation, quantum tunneling and percolation, to unified materials/structure design. We highlight composite and graded architectures, interfacial/porous engineering, and microstructured 3D conductive networks

Optimization of Slip Casting Parameters of Alumina Yttria Nanocomposite Powder for Obtaining Transparent Yttrium Aluminum Garnet Ceramics

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Materials in Engineering, 2017
In this study, Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS)  of both slip casted and powder specimens of alumina/ yttria core-shell nanocomposite were utilized for fabricating transparent Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (YAG) ceramics. Phase evolution, optical transmittance and

Template‐Confined Synthesis of Shape‐Engineered Single‐Crystal Gold Microplates in Lithographically‐Defined Polymeric Patterns

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐crystal gold microplates are high‐performance nanomaterials with an impressive wafer‐based application space. Progress has, however, been tempered by an inability to exert synthetic control over microplate size, shape, and positioning. In this work, control over these parameters is demonstrated using a seed‐mediated synthesis that both confines ...

Fundamental study of slip casting.

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Materials Science, Japan, 1987
Generally, a slip casting process is closely related to the flocculation state of particles. The present investigation was undertaken in order to understand the relationship between the flocculation state of particles and the packing structure on the surface of gypsum mold. The flocculation state of particles in Al2O3-slurry was discussed on the basis ...

Study of Large-Scale Aluminium-Doped Zinc Oxide Ceramic Targets Prepared by Slip Casting

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2016
Aluminium-doped zinc oxide (AZO) ceramic green compacts at a size of 170 × 340 × 17 mm have been prepared by slip casting. An AZO slurry with good fluidity and viscosity was obtained when 1.2 wt% of dispersant was added, which indicates that the slurry ...

Vorticity‐Driven µ‐Platelet Rotation and Selective Packing for Vertical Thermal–Electrical Interconnects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a capillary‐filtering‐based particle‐filling (CFPF) process that simultaneously forms vertical thermal pathways and electrical vias within µ‐pores. In situ microfluidic analysis reveals that capillary‐driven velocity gradients generate vorticity that governs µ‐platelet rotation and vertical alignment.
