Slip Factors of Centrifugal Slurry Pumps

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1987
Experiments have been carried out in order to determine the effects on slip factor due to the various parameters affecting the performance characteristics of a centrifugal slurry pump. The experiments were conducted with water, sand slurry, and a glass bead slurry at three different pump speeds.

Factors Affecting Greenhouse Sweetpotato Slip Production

International Journal of Vegetable Science, 2016
ABSTRACTSweetpotato certified seed producers rely on fast propagation of virus-indexed slip plants in the greenhouse to obtain transplants for the production of first generation of storage roots. Effective fertilization is important for greenhouse vegetative propagation, but relevant guidelines are rare.

BACTERIA, A FACTOR IN SLIP CONTROL*

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1949
A bstract An analysis of the significance of bacteria as a factor in slip control based on actual plant experiences is given. It is shown that variations of some magnitude in the properties of casting slip can occur as a result of bacterial action.

Factors associated with worker slipping in limited-service restaurants

Injury Prevention, 2010
Objective Slips, trips and falls (STF) are responsible for a substantial injury burden in the global workplace. Restaurant environments are challenged by STF. This study assessed individual and work environment factors related to slipping in US limited-service restaurant workers.

Human factors contributing to slips, trips and falls

Ergonomics, 1983
This paper attempts to review existing knowledge of some human factors contributing to slipping and falling. After considering the biomechanics of normal unladen locomotion, the effects of load carriage on stability are considered by extrapolation from a static model.

Factors Leading to Slip-and-Fall Incidents

2016
There are several factors that prompt the slip-and-fall incidents and this study focuses on seven factors. Epidemiology approach was used to determine the factors of slip-and-fall incidents, and questionnaire was selected as an instrument for data collection.

Experimental investigation of slip factors in centrifugal pumps

Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2009
Abstract The phenomenon of slip is known to strongly influence the performance of centrifugal pumps. In the present work, the slip phenomenon at the impeller outlet is studied experimentally for five industrial pumps at different flow rates and the slip factor is estimated for each of these cases. Theoretical slip factors are calculated using several

STUDY OF FACTORS INVOLVED IN GLAZE‐SLIP CONTROL, I–IV* I, GLAZE‐SLIP SPECIFICATIONS

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1944
A bstract Experiments were conducted to find a simple, adequate means of specifying glaze consistency. Tests showed that the amount of slip clinging to a glass plate after it is withdrawn from a reservoir of slip (known as its coherence value) was directly influenced by such ...

Analysis of Influence Factors on Sludge Wall Slip

2011 International Conference on Computer and Management (CAMAN), 2011
Wall slip behavior of sludge was studied experimentally by using a rotational rhehometer with parallel plate fixtures and checking the possible influence factors on sludge wall slip based on the gap dependence of the stress/ strain data. In the steady shearing flow it was found that there seems to be no critical shear stress for the onset of slip of ...

On the Aerosol Particle Slip Correction Factor

Journal of Applied Meteorology, 1969
Abstract The slip correction factor for equations of particle motion is an item to which apparently little thought is given these days. The fact that the constants are for the most part empirical and that the values used are specifically for an air/oil droplet system are not usually considered even when very different atmospheres and aerosols are under
