The drag reduction mechanism of liquid-infused surface based on lattice boltzmann method
ObjectivesNewly proposed in recent years, the liquid-infused surface (LIS) is a drag reduction surface which replaces the residual air conserved by the microgrooves of a traditional superhydrophobic surface with a lubricant, thereby vastly improving the ...

Slip length measurement of gas flow [PDF]
In this paper, we present a review of the most important techniques used to measure the slip length of gas flow on isothermal surfaces. First, we present the famous Millikan experiment and then the rotating cylinder and spinning rotor gauge methods.

The water lubrication characteristic of partial water-repellent (slip) type flat thrust bearings was examined. In this bearing, water-repellent (slip) regions and hydrophilic (non-slip) regions were alternately arranged in the slip direction, and the ...

A Three-Dimensional Slip Velocity Model for Water-Lubricated Hydrodynamic Journal Bearings
Hydrodynamic journal bearings, coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and lubricated by water, have been widely used in ships and large-scale pumps, and the function is to maintain the stability of rotor system.

Wall slip of complex fluids: Interfacial friction versus slip length [PDF]
Using a dynamic Surface Force Apparatus, we demonstrate that the notion of slip length used to describe the boundary flow of simple liquids, is not appropriate for viscoelastic liquids. Rather, the appropriate description lies in the original Navier's partial slip boundary condition, formulated in terms of an interfacial friction coefficient.

Molecular dynamics study on the slippage of liquid lithium flow in tungsten nanochannels
As the use of liquid lithium (Li) as the plasma facing material in a fusion device becomes widespread, more and more research work has been dedicated to the numerical simulations of Li flow based on the Navier–Stokes equations.
