Experimental investigation on the coupled effect of effective stress and gas slippage on the permeability of shale [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
AbstractPermeability is one of the most important parameters to evaluate gas production in shale reservoirs. Because shale permeability is extremely low, gas is often used in the laboratory to measure permeability. However, the measured apparent gas permeability is higher than the intrinsic permeability due to the gas slippage effect, which could be ...

STUDY EFFECT OF SOME FIELD FACTORS IN DETERMINING THE PERFORMANCE AGRICULTURAL TRACTOR [PDF]

open access: yesMesopotamia Journal of Agriculture, 2018
This research was conducted to study the effect of three levels of soil moisture content (10-13%),(14-17%),(18-21%) with two plowing depths by using the disk plow(10-15cm),(15-20cm) and three different speeds (3.5, 5.5, 7.5 km/hr.) on Slippage percentage,

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

The effect of carbon nanotubes on the mechanical and damping properties of macro-defect-free cements

open access: yesScience and Engineering of Composite Materials, 2020
The effect of CNTs on the mechanical and damping properties of macro-defect-free (MDF) cements was studied, and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers were also studied as a contrast.

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Study on permeability laws of coal under coupled fluid dynamics and pore elasticity

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
The evolution of coal reservoir permeability is one of the key scientific issues affecting productivity enhancement in coalbed methane development. Permeability is not only controlled by the geometric characteristics of the fracture structure but is also

Effect of Stress and Water Pressure on Permeability of Fractured Sandstone Based on Response Surface Method

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2020
In order to study the effects of stress and water pressure on the permeability of fractured sandstone, an ultra-deep gas layer of fractured tight sandstone in WengFu Mine in GuiZhou province, was selected for experimental design and research, and the ...

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated
