Slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) is the most common hip disorder affecting adolescent children [1]. The etiology is not fully understood but thought to be multifactorial, related to both biological and biomechanical factors [2]. SCFE occurs when the epiphysis of the proximal femur slips in relation to the metaphysis through the growth plate ...

Case: We report 2 cases of Loder-unstable slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE). Both patients had initial pinning followed by surgical hip dislocation where complete avulsion of the lateral epiphyseal vessels from the nutrient foramina was identified.

Reduction of epiphyseal displacement by manipulation in the treatment of unstable slipped capital femoral epiphysis (scfe) can lead to very severe complications as avascular necrosis or acute necrosis of cartilage. The aim of this study is to analyze the results of treatment of unstable scfe with open reduction and fixation.

AIMS OF DIAGNOSTIC RADIOGRAPHY: Visualization of the proximal femur in two clearly defined projections. Radiologic and morphological diagnosis of slipped capital femoral epiphysis. Evaluation of the stability of the femoral epiphysis: chronic slippage or acute interruption of continuity between the femoral epiphysis and the femoral neck metaphysis ...
