Can Elastomers Combine Stiffness, Toughness and Fatigue Resistance?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review studies how the molecular and macroscopic architecture of elastomers influence their mechanical properties including: stiffness, stretchability, toughness, fatigue resistance, and damping behavior. By linking the structure to performance, it proposes design principles for advanced elastomeric systems that combine mechanical properties ...

Digital tax transformation and compliance behaviour: The moderating role of social norms in Indonesian corporate tax system

open access: yesJurnal Akuntansi dan Auditing Indonesia
This study examines whether digital tax transformation improves corporate tax compliance and whether social norms condition that effect. The Indonesian setting is relevant because firms have faced a broader digitalisation of tax administration alongside

Photoactive Tweezers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A photoactive tweezers system based on photoactive colloids is developed and systematically investigated in this study. Through experimental and theoretical methods, we demonstrate that the photoredox reaction catalyzed by a dye‐sensitized TiO2 particle generates a strong positive phototaxis, enabling self‐entrapment in the beam center.

Neutron Reflectometry and Compression of Graded Hydrogel Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Highly‐entangled and covalently‐crosslinked hydrogels with thin and thick surface gel layers are compressed in neutron reflectometry experiments. Surface gel layer thickness dictates the extent to which the polymer network at the surface of a hydrogel collapses, while crosslinking chemistry, and therefore elastic modulus, impacts the pressure at which ...

Surfactants as a Tool for Coupling Light Into Hydrodynamic Flow: The Influence of Surfactant Hydrophobicity and Head Polarity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Reversible light‐induced gradients at solid–liquid interfaces enable controllable interfacial transport via light‐driven diffusioosmosis. We demonstrate directed particle manipulation based on dynamically generated concentration gradients. The mechanism is broadly applicable to cationic, anionic, and non‐ionic surfactants with varying hydrophobicity ...

3D Printing of Stretchable, Compressible and Conductive Porous Polyurethane for Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printable porous dopamine‐polyurethane acrylate elastomer results in conductive, stretchable, and compressible structures that can be metallized in situ through catechol‐mediated silver reduction. The resulting material function as both compliant soft robot with a and strain sensors without complex assemblies, enabling fully 3D‐printed soft ...

Tax Compliance Models: From Economic to Behavioral Approaches

open access: yesTransylvanian Review of Administrative Sciences, 2012
The paper reviews the models of tax compliance with an emphasis on economic and behavioral perspectives. Although the standard tax evasion model of Allingham and Sandmo and other similar economic models capture some important aspects of tax compliance (i.

Hierarchical Multi‐Material Architectures With Gradient Design for Dynamic‐Range Flexible Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Hierarchical multi‐material TPMS lattices are engineered as flexible tactile sensors by combining soft and stiff elastomeric layers with a conformal conductive coating. The bilayer architecture delivers sensitivity at low pressures while maintaining a broad detectable range under large loads, enabling reliable pressure and vibration monitoring for ...
