Exfoliation by ultrasound of graphitic carbon nitride improved activity for the photoreduction of CO2. Abstract Exfoliation of graphitic carbon nitride g‐C3N4 by means of ultrasound (US) treatment at varying input power is investigated. Exfoliation of g‐C3N4 displays a strong dependence of US input power, with a slightly enhanced bandgap (2.8 eV), but ...

Recognising and managing diabetic retinopathy
The management of diabetic retinopathy (DR) depends on accurately recognising or classifying the different types of DR and knowing what treatment to give the patient.DR has clinical signs which can be seen with an ophthalmoscope or with a slit lamp and a

Diclofenac Detection via Inner‐Filter Effect Using Pyridine‐Modified Triphenylene
The synthesis of hexa‐pyridine triphenylene derivatives via Suzuki‐coupling reaction and their application toward the sensing of diclofenac have been studied for the first time. The 3PY and 4PY are selective for diclofenac over the other commonly prescribed pharmaceuticals and hormones tested. Triphenylene derivatives 3PY (2,3,6,7,10,11‐hexa(pyridine‐3‐

This study describes the synthesis of a new dithia‐[2.1.1]‐(2,6)‐pyridinophane ligand and its molybdenum(0) tricarbonyl complex. Monolayers of the dome‐shaped complex on Au(111) are investigated by employing surface spectroscopic methods (infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, near‐edge X‐ray absorption fine ...

Synthesis and Optical Properties of Ln2Ln′2‐Tetranuclear Lanthanide(III) Complexes
A series of new heterotetranuclear lanthanide complexes (Ln2Ln′2) is synthesized to study Ln‐to‐Ln′ energy transfer. Using stable dinuclear precursors, Tb2Yb2 and Nd2Tb2 are prepared and show visible/NIR emission. Reduced Tb3+ lifetimes suggest energy transfer to Yb3+ or Nd3+, offering a modular route to mixed‐lanthanide systems.

Fluorescent β‐Sheet‐Based Peptide Hydrogels with Aggregation‐Enhanced Emission Properties
Fluorescent hydrogels from 1,8‐naphtalimide‐based peptides are designed and characterized; the materials are injectable and present enhanced emission upon β‐sheet formation. Novel fluorescent peptide hydrogels are reported by combining 1,8‐naphthalimide‐derived amino acids with a previously developed peptide‐based controlled drug release matrix ...
