An ex vivo glomerular filtration barrier is engineered using electrospun, biomimetic membranes seeded with human glomerular cells. The model supports fenestrated endothelium and podocyte foot processes under flow, mimics size‐selective filtration, and enables disease modeling with hiPSC‐derived podocytes, offering a powerful platform for studying ...

Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics
Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.

Cryogenic Volume-Phase Holograpic Grisms for MOIRCS
We have developed high dispersion VPH (volume phase holographic) grisms with zinc selenide (ZnSe) prisms for the cryogenic optical system of MOIRCS (Multi-Object near InfraRed Camera and Spectrograph) for Y-, J-, H- and K- band observations.

Precision radial velocities with CSHELL [PDF]
Radial velocity identification of extrasolar planets has historically been dominated by optical surveys. Interest in expanding exoplanet searches to M dwarfs and young stars, however, has motivated a push to improve the precision of near infrared radial ...

Phase Reversal Diffraction in incoherent light
Phase reversal occurs in the propagation of an electromagnetic wave in a negatively refracting medium or a phase-conjugate interface. Here we report the experimental observation of phase reversal diffraction without the above devices.

The oxidation of porous carbon fiber heat shield material at high temperatures is imaged using time‐resolved synchrotron X‐ray microtomography. Resolving the interplay between species diffusion and carbon‐oxygen reaction rate reveals spatially and temporally varying degradation across oxidation regimes, with profound implications for in‐depth material ...

Optical Coronagraphic Spectroscopy of AU Mic: Evidence of Time Variable Colors?
We present coronagraphic long slit spectra of AU Mic's debris disk taken with the STIS instrument aboard the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). Our spectra are the first spatially resolved, scattered light spectra of the system's disk, which we detect at ...

This study reports that when a gel‐gel interface is intentionally introduced into a hydrogel via two‐step polymerization, the polymer networks near the interface spontaneously align perpendicular to it. By employing a photo‐initiator system to spatially control the gel‐gel interface, anisotropic hydrogels with programmable orientations of polymer ...
