Effect of Processing on Structural and Morphological Changes of Hydroxyapatite‐Based Materials

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 10, Issue 14, April 11, 2025.
The low‐cost wet precipitation method produces fine needle‐like, hexagonal hydroxyapatite (∼10, 20 nm, crystallite, and 20 m2/g). Calcination increases crystallite size (50 nm), reduces surface area, alters morphology to rounded agglomerates, and changes symmetry to triclinic.

Local land‐use decisions drive losses in river biological integrity to 2099: Using machine learning to disentangle interacting drivers of ecological change in policy forecasts

open access: yesMeteorological Applications, Volume 32, Issue 1, January/February 2025.
A machine learning model disentangles interacting effects of climate and land use on river biological integrity over the period 2006–2015. Forecasts reveal that land use has a greater impact on proximate drivers of biological integrity to 2099 and that these impacts are exacerbated by climate change.
