Compact Ring Slot Antenna With Harmonic Suppression

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2018
Harmonic suppression antennas are widely used in the microwave power transmission and active antenna systems. In this letter, a square ring slot loaded with two side slots is constructed as the radiating element.

Metasurface enhanced slot antennas

2016 10th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP), 2016
This paper studies several metasurface enhanced slot antenna. The metasurface is placed on top of the slots, which allows extending their radiating aperture, leading to narrower E-Plane radiation pattern and larger gain. An example is given in which a slotted waveguide antenna gain increases 8 dB with respect to the conventional slotted waveguide ...

A Circularly Polarized Cavity-Backed Slot Antenna With Enhanced Radiation Gain

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2018
A class of circularly polarized (CP) cavity-backed slot antennas with enhanced gain is formed up. All the proposed antennas are implemented in a single rectangular metal cavity.

Slot Antenna Miniaturization Using Slit, Strip, and Loop Loading Techniques

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2017
The design of a miniaturized slot antenna fed by microstrip line is proposed based on loop, slit, and strip loading techniques. The antenna topologies considered are different combination of loops, slits, and strips on top and bottom of the substrate. It

On natural slot antennas

Radio Science, 1979
The concept of a natural slot antenna for very low frequency is discussed. It is suggested that a viable system needs to have an insulated cavity backing the slot aperture.

Cavity-backed slot antenna

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. Digest. Held in conjunction with: USNC/CNC/URSI North American Radio Sci. Meeting (Cat. No.03CH37450), 2004
A novel cavity-backed slot antenna is proposed and experimentally studied. The antenna consists of a slot cut in a ground plane and backed by shorting strips, forming a backing cavity. Preliminary results based on a prototype show a 2:1 VSWR input impedance bandwidth of more than 20%, which can be further enhanced.

Unipole‐slot array antennas

Electronics and Communications in Japan (Part I: Communications), 1983
AbstractOne of the self‐complementary antennas is axially symmetric and three‐dimensional. Since this antenna has an axially‐symmetrical antenna, made of a finite‐sized plate, it becomes a hard‐to‐control multibeam antenna. to obtain a single beam we remove one of the unipole arrays from a self‐complementary unipole‐slot array antenna made of two ...

Wideband columnar slot antenna

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2016
ABSTRACTA wideband columnar antenna featuring a radiating slot cut around the outside circumference of a rectangular waveguide is presented. The antenna operates effectively in the frequency band of 1.51–4.75 GHz. The antenna also exhibits a reasonably good omnidirectional pattern in the horizontal plane, with predominantly vertical polarization.

Dual-spiral slot antennas

IEE Proceedings H Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 1991
Two types of dual-spiral slot antennas characterised by their simple feed are studied; one is a bidirectional radiation type (Bi-DSS) and the other is a unidirectional type (Uni-DSS). The radiation characteristics of the Bi-DSS are evaluated using the numerically determined magnetic current distribution.

Textured Surface Slot Antenna

2007 Loughborough Antennas and Propagation Conference, 2007
In this paper, we provide numerical and experimental verification of the size reduction and polar pattern modification that can be achieved by using a slot excited textured surface antenna as compared to a conventional slot antenna constructed from a flat perfectly conducting metal sheet, PEC.
