We design and analyze a tapered slot waveguide structure for sub-relativistic electron acceleration. The tapering scheme can be designed, through the eikonal approximation’ to achieve phase synchronization with the accelerated electrons.

An optimized octagonal‐core terahertz (THz) photonic crystal fiber sensor is presented for accurate identification of different milk samples based on refractive index variation. The structure enables highly confined THz guidance and strong light–analyte interaction, allowing reliable discrimination of camel, cow, buffalo, and sheep milk.

High‐Performance All‐Optical Modulator Based on Graphene‐Loaded Ultrathin Silicon Slot Waveguides
A novel scheme composed of graphene‐loaded ultrathin silicon slot waveguide is demonstrated realizing high‐performance all‐optical modulation on silicon photonic platform. Owing to the enhanced light–matter interaction and suppression of two‐photon absorption, the device shows a measured modulation depth over 3dB, a modulation efficiency of 0.086 dB/μm
