Orbitally-driven insulator-metal transition in CuIr$_2$S$_4$: Temperature dependent transient reflectivity study [PDF]
Ultrafast transient reflectivity across the unusual three-dimensional Peierls-like insulator-metal (IM) transition in CuIr_{2}S_{4} was measured as a function of temperature. The low-temperature insulating-phase transient response is dominated by broken-symmetry-induced coherent lattice oscillations that abruptly vanish at the IM transition.

Beyond Structure: Methylation Fine‐Tunes Stability and Folding Kinetics of bcl2Mid G‐Quadruplex
The introduction of a single 5‐methylcytosine into a G‐rich sequence originating from the B‐cell lymphoma 2 (BCL2) gene promoter affects both the folding kinetics and thermodynamics of the two G4 structures and thus plays a crucial role in regulating G4 folding pathways, which has significant implications for the control of gene expression.

Covariant energy density functionals: the assessment of global performance across the nuclear landscape [PDF]
The assessment of the global performance of the state-of-the-art covariant energy density functionals and related theoretical uncertainties in the description of ground state observables has recently been performed. Based on these results, the correlations between global description of binding energies and nuclear matter properties of covariant energy ...

Magnetic phase diagram of the multiferroic FeTe$_2$O$_5$Br [PDF]
The low-temperature magnetic phase diagram of the multiferroic system FeTe$_2$O$_5$Br down to 300 mK and up to 9 T is presented. Short-range magnetic correlations within the crystal layers start to develop already at $\sim$50 K, i.e., far above $T_{N1} \sim$ 11.0 K, where the system undergoes a magnetic phase transition into the high-temperature ...

Abstract Objectives The extraction of a tooth exacerbates the stress in diabetic patients leading to diabetic complications so the aim was to evaluate the changes in blood cortisol, glucose, and oxygen saturation in type 2 diabetic patients during tooth extraction to pay special attention during a routine surgical procedure.

Unconventional photo-induced charge-density-wave dynamics in 2H-NbSe$_{2}$ [PDF]
We investigated temperature ($T$) dependent ultrafast near-infrared (NIR) transient reflectivity dynamics in coexisting superconducting (SC) and charge density wave (CDW) phases of two-dimensional 2H-NbSe$_{2}$ using NIR and visible excitations. With visible pump-photon excitation (400 nm) we find a slow high-energy quasiparticle relaxation channel ...
