Collisional properties of cold spin-polarized nitrogen gas: theory, experiment, and prospects as a sympathetic coolant for trapped atoms and molecules [PDF]
We report a combined experimental and theoretical study of collision-induced dipolar relaxation in a cold spin-polarized gas of atomic nitrogen (N). We use buffer gas cooling to create trapped samples of 14N and 15N atoms with densities 5+/-2 x 10^{12 ...

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Magnetic Anisotropy and Slow Magnetic Relaxation in Two Mononuclear Octahedral Cobalt(II) Complexes
Two mononuclear octahedral Co(II) complexes, [Co(L)X2] (L = 1-(prop-2-en-1-yl)-1H-imidazole, X = NCS− (1) and NCSe− (2)), have been synthesized and characterized.

Spin orientation by electric current in (110) quantum wells
We develop a theory of spin orientation by electric current in (110)-grown semiconductor quantum wells. The controversy in the factor of two from two existed approaches is resolved by pointing out the importance of energy relaxation in this problem.

Slow magnetic relaxation in Ni-Ln (Ln = Ce, Gd, Dy) dinuclear complexes.
Three new isomorphous complexes [Ni(o-van-en)LnCl3(H2O)] [H2(o-van-en) = N,N'-ethylene-bis(3-methoxysalicylaldiminate; Ln = Ce (1), Gd (2), Dy (3)] were prepared by a stepwise reaction using mild conditions and were structurally characterised as ...

ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

No Ending Point in The Bragg-to-Vortex Glass Phase Transition Line at Low Temperatures
We have measured the magnetic hysteresis loops and the magnetic relaxation for $Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_{8+\delta}$ (Bi-2212) single crystals which exhibit the second magnetization peak effect.

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Russian Doll-like 3d–4f Cluster Wheels with Slow Relaxation of Magnetization
The solvothermal reactions of LnCl3·6H2O and MCl2·6H2O (M = Co, Ni) with 2,2′-diphenol (H2L1) and 5,7-dichloro-8-hydroxyquinoline (HL2) gave three 3d–4f heterometallic wheel-like nano-clusters [Ln7M6(L1)6(L2)6(µ3-OH)6(OCH3)6Cl(CH3CN)6]Cl2·xH2O (Ln = Dy ...
