Slow calcium removal contributes to impaired lusitropic response to β‐adrenergic stimulation in HFpEF mice

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is the most common form of heart failure, yet major gaps remain in our understanding of its underlying mechanisms, disease progression and effective treatment strategies. Mice with HFpEF exhibited exercise intolerance and diastolic dysfunction in vivo, while isolated hearts ...

Generative MR Multitasking With Complex‐Harmonic Cardiac Encoding: Bridging the Gap Between Gated Imaging and Real‐Time Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 5, Page 2440-2450, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To develop a unified image reconstruction framework that bridges real‐time and gated cardiac MRI, including quantitative MRI. Methods We introduce generative multitasking, which learns subject‐ and dataset‐specific implicit neural temporal bases from sequence timings and an interpretable latent space for cardiac and respiratory motion.

Management of a heart failure patient during a pandemic: A telemedicine success story

open access: yesDigital Health
Remote patient monitoring (RPM) is rapidly gaining popularity for the management of heart failure (HF) patients. We present a case involving a 63-year-old male with ischemic cardiomyopathy, in which an RPM application on a mobile phone successfully ...

Cutaneous‐only hypersensitivity reaction presumed due to intravenous administration of atracurium in a dog

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, November 2026.
Summary There are limited case reports of hypersensitivity reactions to neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs) in veterinary species, and none describe cutaneous‐only signs. This case report describes a Grade 1 cutaneous‐only hypersensitivity reaction to atracurium in a 7‐year‐old dog undergoing general anaesthesia for cataract surgery with bilateral ...

Central venous administration of epinephrine in out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest: A propensity‐matched analysis

open access: yesHong Kong Journal of Emergency Medicine, Volume 33, Issue 5, October 2026.
Abstract Background The association between central venous epinephrine administration and clinical outcomes in patients with out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is less certain. Objectives We compared clinical outcomes between patients who received epinephrine via a central venous catheter (CVC) and those who received via a peripheral intravenous ...

Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocyte Therapy Combined With PD‐1/LAG‐3 Inhibition in Patients With Recurrent Platinum‐Resistant Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 7, Page 1735-1749, 1 October 2026.
The detection of tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) is a positive prognostic factor in ovarian cancer. Moreover, TILs are significantly boosted by immunotherapy, though ovarian cancer patients have seen limited benefit from immune therapies. This study investigated the safety and feasibility of TIL therapy combined with PD‐1 and LAG‐3 inhibitors in ...

Perianesthetic Complications in Genetic Mitochondrial Disease: A Review of Case Reports

open access: yesPediatric Anesthesia, Volume 36, Issue 10, Page 1217-1230, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Genetic mitochondrial diseases (GMDs) are a large group of genetically and clinically heterogeneous disorders caused by defects in genes encoding mitochondrial components. GMDs are grouped into named syndromes based on clinical presentation, for example, Leigh syndrome (LS).

The Effect of Carbetocin on Cardiac Repolarization: A Randomized, Placebo‐ and Positive‐Controlled QT/QTc Study in Healthy Adults

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 19, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Carbetocin is an oxytocin receptor agonist used for postpartum hemorrhage prevention. While oxytocin is known to transiently prolong the QT/QTc interval, robust QTc data for carbetocin are limited. Carbetocin is known to elevate HR, which can impact QTc analyses; thus, a dose that did not overly elevate HR was important to select.
