Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Holderian functional central limit theorem for linear processes
Let (Xt)t ≥ 1 be a linear process defined by Xt = ∑i=0∞ψi εt-1 where (ψi, i ≥ 0) is a sequence of real numbers and (εi , i ∈ Z) is a sequence of random variables with null expectation and variance 1.

Isomorphism theorems for some parabolic initial-boundary value problems in Hörmander spaces
In Hörmander inner product spaces, we investigate initial-boundary value problems for an arbitrary second order parabolic partial differential equation and the Dirichlet or a general first-order boundary conditions.

Statistics of random quasi 1D Hamiltonian with slowly varying parameters. Painlev\'{e} again.
The statistics of random band--matrices with width and strength of the band slowly varying along the diagonal is considered. The Dyson equation for the averaged Green function close to the edge of spectrum is reduced to the Painlev\'{e} I equation.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Landau levels and the Thomas-Fermi structure of rapidly rotating Bose-Einstein condensates
We show that, within mean-field theory, the density profile of a rapidly rotating harmonically trapped Bose-Einstein condensate is of the Thomas-Fermi form as long as the number of vortices is much larger than unity.

Super-Slowly Varying Functions in Extreme Value Theory
Summary Large-deviation limit theorems for maxima of random samples in the domain of attraction of the extreme value distribution Φα are studied, motivated by examination of an approximation used in the statistical analysis of large observations.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Observation of a Class of Disturbance in Time Series Expansion for Fractional Order Systems
This paper is concerned with the problem of designing disturbance observer for fractional order systems, of which the disturbance is in time series expansion. The stability of a special observer with the selected nonlinear weighted function and transient

Nonequilibrium time evolution of the spectral function in quantum field theory
Transport or kinetic equations are often derived assuming a quasi-particle (on-shell) representation of the spectral function. We investigate this assumption using a three-loop approximation of the 2PI effective action in real time, without a gradient ...
