Tunable amylopectin graft copolymers for flocculating and dewatering iron ore tailings
Abstract Polyacrylamide (PAM), the standard flocculant for mining tailings, often produces turbid supernatants and poorly dewatered sediments, limiting water reuse and tailings densification. We synthesized amylopectin‐graft‐poly[(2‐methacryloyloxy)ethyl]trimethylammonium chloride (AP‐g‐PMETAC) copolymers with systematically varied graft frequency (N =

Abstract The objective of this work is to demonstrate that the inclusion of an up‐flow anaerobic sludge bed (UASB reactor) within an industrial wastewater treatment plant reduces the plant's investment and operating costs compared to a system based solely on conventional complete‐mix activated sludge (CMAS), operating under the same design principles ...

Catalyst Based on Sludge Derived from Wastewater Treatment of Textile Industry
Study of the catalytic properties of residual sludge from effluent treatment plants of two textile industries -located in Quito Ecuador- with different dye finishing processes. The sludges were firstly dried at 110, 125 and 140°C to analyze the effect of

Industrial Sludge Valorization in Soil Application
Sludges produced in the pickling line in a steel company were applied to the soil as a secondary source of nutrients. In the experiments, the addition of two types of sludge, namely neutralization sludge (NS) and phosphatization sludge (PS), was ...

For some, the world is becoming increasingly complicated in that there are ever greater responsibilities, from selecting health insurance to figuring out how much to save for retirement. Ten years ago, my friend (and Harvard law professor) Cass Sunstein and I published a book called Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health ...

Abstract This study proposes a novel, green, and sustainable method for synthesizing magnetic iron oxides from metallurgical copper slag (CS), leveraging its iron content as a valuable resource. Iron was extracted via acid leaching using edible citric acid (ECA), forming a citrate–iron complex (CSL), which was subsequently thermally decomposed at 300°C

ABSTRACT Mining is one of the foundations of economic development but has historically been associated with severe socioenvironmental impacts, such as ecosystem degradation, displacement of traditional communities, and large‐scale disasters. In this context, corporate social responsibility (CSR) plays a central role as a mechanism for legitimizing ...
