Data‐Driven Bulldozer Blade Control for Autonomous Terrain Leveling

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A simulation‐driven framework for autonomous bulldozer leveling is presented, combining high‐fidelity terramechanics simulation with a neural‐network‐based reduced‐order model. Gradient‐based optimization enables efficient, low‐level blade control that balances leveling quality and operation time.

Dynamical motion of a spacecraft containing a slug and influenced by a gyrostatic moment and constant torques

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise Vibration and Active Control
This study examines how a spacecraft reacts to constant body-fixed torques and a gyrostatic moment (GM), as well as the impact of energy dissipation. The spacecraft model being studied includes a spherical slug near the center of mass covered by a viscid

From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...

Monitoring Liquid Slugs Using Distributed Acoustic Sensing and an Air Gun

open access: yesSensors
Distributed acoustic sensing sends laser pulses along a fiber optic cable and analyzes the backscattered light to identify acoustic signals along the entire fiber. Liquid slugs were produced in a 427 m vertical test well using surface-controlled gas lift

Genome‐Wide In Vivo RNAi Screening Identifies HOXD4 as a Tumor Metastasis Suppressor in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Metastasis remains a major challenge in colorectal cancer. Using an in vivo shRNA screening system, this study identifies Homeobox D4 as a key metastasis suppressor. Reduced Homeobox D4 expression is associated with aggressive tumor features. Functional and mechanistic analyses show that it inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition by repressing ...

Experiments in a combined up stream downstream slug flow

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Slug flow induced by the combination of a downstream and an upstream two phase flow is very common in the oil industry, mainly when the pipelines are installed on hilly terrains.

Two Routes to Land: Genomic Underpinnings of Parallel Aerial Egg Deposition in Aquatic Old‐World Pila and New‐World Pomacea (Ampullariidae)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comparative genomics of Gondwana‐diverged Pila and Pomacea reveals parallel evolution of aerial oviposition. Convergent chromosomal rearrangements reshape regulatory landscapes within topologically associating domains. Lineage‐specific gene family expansions and viral‐derived perivitelline proteins (PV1) underpin desiccation resistance.

Analyzing the continuous volcanic tremors detected during the 2015 phreatic eruption of the Hakone volcano

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2017
In the present study, we analyze the seismic signals from a continuous volcanic tremor that occurred during a small phreatic eruption of the Hakone volcano, in the Owakudani geothermal region of central Japan, on June 29, 2015.
