In this work, we fabricate nanostructured, bimodal, and multimodal WC-10Co4Cr coatings via two high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) systems and investigate the coatings’ microstructure, mechanical, electrochemical properties and slurry erosion resistance in 3.5

The effect of impingement angle on slurry erosion
Wear, 1991Abstract The slurry erosion behaviour of metallic and non-metallic materials eroded by sand and water slurry was investigated. Under different test conditions, the erosion behaviour of the two kinds of materials followed two different patterns. A graph of erosion rate vs. impingement angle for metallic materials showed two peaks and a trough, whereas

Erosion damage of polymeric material by slurry
Wear, 1986Abstract An attempt was made to reveal the erosion mechanism of a plastic material in slurry containing glass beads of approximately 176 μm in diameter. The experimental observations were interpreted in terms of parameters such as the impact velocity Vp, the impact angle α of the beads and the striking efficiency η.

The Control of Erosion-Corrosion in Slurry Pipelines
CORROSION 1987, 1987Abstract The results of erosion-corrosion testing in pilot plant slurry pipelines are related to the behaviour of operating slurry pipelines and the control of erosion-corrosion in such systems by use of inhibitors, solution conditioning and adjustment of slurry parameters. The erosion-corrosion component of the total wear

On the particle size effect in slurry erosion
Wear, 1991Abstract The erosion rates of cylindrical steel specimens tested at a constant speed of 18.7 m s −1 in an erosion pot tester using 1.2 wt.% suspension of SiC in oil for particle diameters between 20 and 500 μm have been determined. The rate of particle impact on unit area of the surface at the stagnation line of erosion specimens was established as ...

Erosion Wear in A Slurry Pipe With Multisized Coal And Bottom-Ash Slurries
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2017Abstract Presently, Erosion wear is one of the major problems in slurry transportation system affecting both initial cost and life of its components. In the present work, erosion wear due to solid–liquid mixture flow has been studied using a slurry erosion pot tester.
