Performance of ice slurry as cooling fluid for an indoor ice rink

A slightly modified version of a previously published model calculating transient heat transfer under the ice of an indoor ice rink is used to evaluate the performance of two cooling fluids, a brine with 20 % calcium chloride (base case) and a calcium chloride ice slurry.

Distributed measurement system and sensors for "ice slurry" characterization

This paper deals with the problem of the characterization of sensors developed estimating the ice fraction in ice slurry fluids flowing into the pipes of industrial refrigeration apparatus based on secondary refrigerants. Such measurements must be performed in a non invasive way and the sensors must face with severe environmental conditions.
