High field magnetization process of (Sm, Nd)2Fe17Ny compounds
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 1992The crystal structure and high-field magnetization process of (Sm1−xNdx)2Fe17Ny compounds (x=0.0, 0.1,…, 1.0 ...

Revised Sm–Nd systematics of Kambalda greenstones, Western Australia
Nature, 1984Sm–Nd isotope systematics in mafic–ultramafic lavas from the Norseman–Wiluna greenstone belt, Western Australia, have been reinvestigated. A previous age based on mixing lavas and granites is not confirmed: instead, a Sm–Nd age of 3,262 ± 44 Myr is indicated for the lavas, 400 Myr older than intruding granites, and predating gneisses that have been ...

Sm–Nd dating of Onverwacht Group Volcanics, southern Africa
Nature, 1979Sm and Nd were unaffected by alteration of the Onverwacht lavas permitting for the first time a precise Sm–Nd date (3,540 ± 30 Myr) to be obtained for this major igneous event.

Sm-Nd isotopic evolution of chondrites and achondrites, II
Earth and Planetary Science Letters, 1984The ^(147)Sm-^(143)Nd and ^(146)Sm-^(142)Nd isotope systematics have been investigated in five chondrites and the achondrites Moama and Angra dos Reis (ADOR). The new chondrite data and those we have reported before are all consistent with our previously reported reference values for CHUR (“chondritic uniform reservoir”) of (^(143)Nd/^(144)Nd)_(CHUR)^0

SmNd isotopic systematics of a gabbro-eclogite transition
Lithos, 1986Abstract SmNd isotopic systems have been studied in: (1) a sequence of coronitic olivine gabbros showing different degrees of transition to eclogite; (2) coronitic leuco-gabbro norite; and (3) country-rock eclogite, all from the Nordoyane-Brattvag area, western Norway. Isochrons defined by combinations of whole-rock samples and relict igneous phases

The application of the garnet Sm-Nd dating method to granulite facies metamorphic rocks has been brought into question by recent claims of a low closure temperature (c. 600~ for the SmNd isotopic system in garnet (Mezger et al., 1992, Burton et al., 1993). We present evidence for a more robust garnet memory under granulite facies conditions.

Sm—Nd ages from the Ballantrae complex, SW Scotland
Transactions of the Royal Society of Edinburgh: Earth Sciences, 1984ABSTRACTThe Ballantrae complex has yielded its oldest yet determined age of 576 ± 32 Ma from an Sm–Nd internal isochron for a block ‘eclogite’ interpreted as being a component of the mélange-olistostrome unit at Knockormal. This unit is possibly older than the main ophiolitic part of the complex and the ‘eclogite’ block provides evidence for the ...

Evidence for inherited Sm?Nd isotopes in granitoid zircons
Contributions to Mineralogy and Petrology, 1992This study presents evidence to show that, in addition to preserving U−Pb isotope systematics, refractory zircons also preserve, at least in part, an inherited Sm−Nd isotope component. The zircons analyzed during this study were taken from the Strontian granitoid (NW Scotland). The inner intrusion of this composite pluton is known from a previous study

Sm-Nd and Rb-Sr isotopic systematics of ureilites
Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1991The present evaluation of Sm-Nd and Rb-Sr isotopic data for seven ureilites establishes their divisions into three groups on the bases of Sm-Nd isotopic systematics. The first group of ureilites is made up of whole-rock samples whose highly depleted assemblages indicate Sm-Nd model ages consistent with 4.55 Ga. The second group of whole-rock samples of
